Gotland
When you think of Sweden, beaches really doesn’t come to your mind, but this country has some of the most beautiful beaches of the world. Some of the best beaches are found on the Baltic island of Gotland, which is not only popular among Swedes, but also attracts thousands of visitors every summer. The pleasant and surprisingly flat landscape of Gotland is excellent for cycling. The walled medieval Hanseatic town Visby is on the World Heritage list of the Unesco and an attraction on its own.

Lake Siljan
Lake Siljan is in the heart of Dalarna, central Sweden and is the center of folklore and tradition. Dalarna, a popular holiday destination in summer is visited every year by thousands of Swedes to see the midsummer pole set up. The nearby town of Rättvik is known for its folk dancing and also the bear park in Orsa.

Mines
Mining is a special attraction in Sweden and is visited by many tourists. These are many mines in this country but the copper mine of Falun, Dalarna (now on the World Heritage List) and the iron-ore mines of Kiruna and Gällivare in Lapland are are a must visit.

National Parks
Sweden has many national parks and nature reserves that are absolutely ideal for long hiking tours. Most impressive landscapes can be found in Lapland in the North and Abisko is a great spot with the famous Lapporten landmark. To the south of this park is the spectacular Sarek national park, which has Europe’s most dangerous rivers, deep valleys and high mountains.
